The tonsillectomy diet works!!

Thanks to everyone for all the concern!!

I’m feelingĀ  much better. There were a few days where I was absolutely miserable. I don’t remember a lot after the surgery (all that anesthesia), but the next day, I was feeling pretty good. I was talking and eating the jell-o like it was my job. But it was downhill from there…I had several miserable days…several awful days…and a couple painful days, but I’m on the upswing.

I made it to the Shoo’s for Easter, but was absolutely miserable. Grandma Shoo had prepared an amazing looking spread of food…too bad all I could do was stare at it and drool. The mashed potatoes and gravy, jell-o, and deviled eggs were thoroughly enjoyable; however, it would’ve been really nice to fill my plate like the rest of the Shoo family.

I’m taking down the water like it’s my job, and I’m still pretty limited on what I can eat–pudding has become a diet staple. Talking too much becomes really painful, so who knows how school will go tomorrow…

Two good things about spending my Spring Break laid up on the couch: The hubby has been my personal nurse/servant for the past 10 days or so…and I’ve lost about 10 pounds in 10 days. My clothes are fitting much looser. I went on a mini-shopping spree for my birthday today and came home and had a fashion show for Mr. Shoo. Even he noticed my weight loss. Maybe not the healthiest way to lose weight, but I’ll take what I can get.

p.s. I’ve really been missing fruits and veggies, but a lot of them are too hard to go down my throat easily. I discovered a way to enjoy some fruit–pureed pears. Whoever gave us the food processor as a wedding present is my hero right now.

tonsillectomy

Yes, the nasty little buggers that cause me to continuously be ill have been removed from my throat. As anyone who has read the gotshoo in the past days knows I’ve been hurting like crazy, and even more than that, I’ve been tired and out of it…oh, the pain meds.

Went out yesterday for Shoo-fly family Easter. I really wore myself out for those two hours and spent the rest of the day asleep. Went to bed at 8ish last night and didn’t wake up until 9:30 this morning. And I’m almost ready for a nap.

Yes, this is my Spring Break. I hurt. I’m tired. And I get really angry whenever I see anyone eating real food. Chris has even gone so far as to try to scarf down his meals in the car before I see them.

I really don’t have a lot this morning…just wanted to say hello and that I am still alive despite the worst pain of my entire life.

my feet smell…

It was a quiet weekend. Thank goodness!! I’ve been a bit under the weather, and Mr. Shoo hurt his back moving things out of the garage on Saturday afternoon. Somehow cleaning my car turned into cleaning out the garage, with my car still dirty on the outside and dog-hairy on the inside. He gave me some big explanation, but like always, all I heard was Peanuts parent noises: “Wawa wa wa wa wa.”

The highlight of my weekend came on Sunday. I made homemade horseshoes–cut the potatoes to make fries and made the cheese sauce from scratch. Mr. Shoo grilled the hamburgers out on the grill for us. Erin C. and Berry came over to eat with us. Steven stopped by to pick up some stuff, and he had a brat.

And…Erin gave me a card with a really sweet message, then the last line asked me to be her bridesmaid!! I’m so honored that she thought of me because in case you didn’t know, it’s kind of a big deal to be asked to be a part of someone’s wedding. Anyway, so I’ll be a bridesmaid (or as Steve pointed out, a bridesmatron) in June. The dresses she’s picked out for the bridesmaids sound beautiful, as does her dress.

She’s also already figured out who I’m walking down the aisle with…not because I’m special, but because I’m so short. When you have a shorty groomsman, you have to pair him with the shorty bridesmaid…that’s me!! So, that’s something to look forward to–and inspire me to lose some weight.
