my feet smell…

It was a quiet weekend. Thank goodness!! I’ve been a bit under the weather, and Mr. Shoo hurt his back moving things out of the garage on Saturday afternoon. Somehow cleaning my car turned into cleaning out the garage, with my car still dirty on the outside and dog-hairy on the inside. He gave me some big explanation, but like always, all I heard was Peanuts parent noises: “Wawa wa wa wa wa.”

The highlight of my weekend came on Sunday. I made homemade horseshoes–cut the potatoes to make fries and made the cheese sauce from scratch. Mr. Shoo grilled the hamburgers out on the grill for us. Erin C. and Berry came over to eat with us. Steven stopped by to pick up some stuff, and he had a brat.

And…Erin gave me a card with a really sweet message, then the last line asked me to be her bridesmaid!! I’m so honored that she thought of me because in case you didn’t know, it’s kind of a big deal to be asked to be a part of someone’s wedding. Anyway, so I’ll be a bridesmaid (or as Steve pointed out, a bridesmatron) in June. The dresses she’s picked out for the bridesmaids sound beautiful, as does her dress.

She’s also already figured out who I’m walking down the aisle with…not because I’m special, but because I’m so short. When you have a shorty groomsman, you have to pair him with the shorty bridesmaid…that’s me!! So, that’s something to look forward to–and inspire me to lose some weight.

Cleaning out the garage and eating horseshoes… Such Springfieldians :)

Only a couple folks out here actually know what horse/ponyshoes are.

Betsy, We are totally Springfieldians, and I’m okay with it. What do we do with a nice day?? Clean the garage!!

Catherine, When I went to school, I had the problem of no one knowing what a horseshoe was. I couldn’t even get one at a restaurant. So disappointing. I don’t know how, with as obese as the U.S. is, the idea of the horseshoe hasn’t spread.
