Thanks to everyone for all the concern!!
I’m feelingĀ much better. There were a few days where I was absolutely miserable. I don’t remember a lot after the surgery (all that anesthesia), but the next day, I was feeling pretty good. I was talking and eating the jell-o like it was my job. But it was downhill from there…I had several miserable days…several awful days…and a couple painful days, but I’m on the upswing.
I made it to the Shoo’s for Easter, but was absolutely miserable. Grandma Shoo had prepared an amazing looking spread of food…too bad all I could do was stare at it and drool. The mashed potatoes and gravy, jell-o, and deviled eggs were thoroughly enjoyable; however, it would’ve been really nice to fill my plate like the rest of the Shoo family.
I’m taking down the water like it’s my job, and I’m still pretty limited on what I can eat–pudding has become a diet staple. Talking too much becomes really painful, so who knows how school will go tomorrow…
Two good things about spending my Spring Break laid up on the couch: The hubby has been my personal nurse/servant for the past 10 days or so…and I’ve lost about 10 pounds in 10 days. My clothes are fitting much looser. I went on a mini-shopping spree for my birthday today and came home and had a fashion show for Mr. Shoo. Even he noticed my weight loss. Maybe not the healthiest way to lose weight, but I’ll take what I can get.
p.s. I’ve really been missing fruits and veggies, but a lot of them are too hard to go down my throat easily. I discovered a way to enjoy some fruit–pureed pears. Whoever gave us the food processor as a wedding present is my hero right now.
Was wondering how you were going to deal with classes if still sore. Hopefully you come up with some class plans so you don’t have to talk much.
Glad you’re back in action!
